1.0 INTRODUCTION

The immigration Department in Nigeria established after the promulgation of the immigration act in 1963 are responsible for examining and interrogating any person wishing to enter or leave Nigeria through air, sea or land, moreso, the person’s baggage are searched to identify what he/she is travelling with.
The control section in the in the immigration department is saddled with the task of approving signed documents for travelling. The administration section deals with the documenting, processing and storage of traveler’s document for future references. The passport in the immigration department is saddled with the task of passport photographs. Filling of the acquired forms and forwarding of the forms to the control section where it will be approved and sign.
The design of an immigration information system involves a situation whereby all the activities and procedures carried out before an immigrant/emigrant will be credited is processed with the aid of the computer it requires a computer statement of immigration program since the computer can do virtually nothing without a workable computer program. The program contains all the immigration form by a particular immigrant/emigrant.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
From the inception of organisation, emphasizing on a particular department in the organisation the immigration has been engaging or encountering enormous problem running their daily activities in producing the travelling document for the immigrants/emigrants.

Since its creation the Nigerian military has fought in a civil war – the conflict with Biafra in 1967-70 – and sent peacekeeping forces abroad both with the United Nations and as the backbone of the ECOWAS-sponsored ECOWAS Cease-fire Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) in Liberia and Sierra Leone. In the aftermath of the civil war, the much expanded size of the military, around 250,000 in 1977, consumed a large part of Nigeria’s resources under military rule for little productive return. It concentrates on how improved representation of processing knowledge and problems solving strategies have advanced the field of artificial intelligence in computer. The system generally involve mainly the manual process and it was dispensed under the following process: when students visits the processing department for the purpose of ID – Card there personal data are endured in the record and they will be asked to leave and back in some day or weeks to collect their processed ID-Card. The researcher investigate the manual system in detail with the view of finding out the need to automate it. Happily, the finally result of the processing export system was it’s ability to produce on – the- spot or wait and take processed Id-card by processing the input data and provide summary of the ID-Card process for a particular student.

ORGANIZATION OF WORK
This work is organized in such a way that the reader can easily understand it. The chapter one of it is based on the introduction, the statement of the problem the purpose of the study, the aim and objectives of the study.
Chapter two in concerned with the literature review.
Chapter three discuss about the description and analysis of the existing system.
Chapter four talks about the design of the new system.
Chapter fife is about the implementation of the new system that has been designed. Chapter six is documentation while chapter seven which is the last chapter discuses about the conclusion, recommendation and references.

INTRODUCTION
1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
In examination of the main processing techniques used in ID-Card processing system from the stage of data processing system to end stage of the processed ID-card a number of problem area are made know, which are as follows.
It has been noted that for students to of management and technology (IMT) Enugu, they queue up for several hours from one unit of the processing center to the another with the manual processed involved in handling the students ID-Card process, most of them waste the whole day in the processing center without getting their ID-Cards. So students do waste a lot of time in taking information and retrieving the student’s records.

1.2 AIM OF THE STUDY
In looking at the already mentioned problems that is nationally parts of the conventional system, the aim of the study is to provide the description ID-Card processing system for student’s information with users who has had a little communication with computer sciences.
