INTRODUCTION
Ever since, tedious mathematical problems in the organization is not a simple one, that is to say, the process can be said to involve a lot of procedures or protocols which ranges from insertion of figures for tedious calculation, processing of numbers and retrieval of errors. However, because of this, there is the need to accomplish an extensive research to discover the intricacies involved in the entire process. So the researcher decided to embark on this work design and implementation of a simple scientific calculator.
Computer have gone from being fantasies of science, fiction of realities of everyday life, especially in the offices, school (educational organization). This work is a research aimed at solving the above promblem. When this system actualizes, it would be received of solving tedious calculations and sophisticated mathematical problems.

1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
In computation of numbers, there ties several kinds of problems in solving tedious arthimetic operation with simple calculator. Having been facing a lot of general problems, the problem identified below relate to computation of numbers:-
i low and slow speed of the calculator
ii Inappropriate representation of data
iii Loss of figure in computation of higher

ABSTRACT

This study was made to ascertain the implementation of Database Management Software for a confectionery Business i.e. the problems of database management is a life long problem in companies for accurate and effective communication between the buyer and the staffs of the business or establishment.

The findings of the study will help to make recommendation and suggestion for future improvement and solution of the present situation.

Data relevant to the objectives of the study were from secondary source and an empirical study done by me. Ora I interview was conducted on selected persons and observations was made and references to relevant materials was also conducted.

Those randomly selected are based at Mr. Bigg’s Enugu and composed of both literate and illiterate staffs. All those interviewed that provide me with relevant materials and gave directive measure are literate and specialist in their job.

                                           CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

Database management software can be described as software used by an organization or firm to store data’s or particulars of workers for reference purpose. This database management software for a confectionery business simply means design a software that will store data’s of all the things produced or sold by the company.

These things are something like sweet, cake, meat pie and so on. This software is a kind of software that is going to hold data’s of all the things that are sold and store in the company or business firm.

This database should be able to allow staff’s to access what they have in the database so as to know which one is available for the customer and also know what is needed at point in time. Only registered staff must have access to the database. Foe the software to work, the business or company has to engage in a small network system known as Internet.

This connection of two or more computers in an office or business firm require what is called a Server but this time the server will not be the one used for wide area network but the server to be used now is known as the personal web server (PWS)

This personal web server will allow you to be able to transfer file from one computer to the other but the information that will be transfer cannot be seen by anybody outside that networks of computer so it is well secure. This software will be working as that use banks when they have not yet connected to the internet which is a wide area network so that they can make report of what happen on that days activities.

1.1     STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

After I have study the manual system of running this business in Mr. Bigg’s Enugu, a lot of problems were discovered

These problems are:

–        Delay in attending to customer request

–        Delay in processing of payment mostly when the customers are many.

–         Communication gaps between the buyer and the sever. In order for this problem to be solved, a management database of goods will assist to be able to engage in effective management of the business.

1.2     PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

After much study of the way this business is being run in Mr. Biggs’s Enugu, there is great need for a computerize database management software that  will make the business to run smoothly and so there will be accurate and effective communication between the buyer and the staff of the business.

1.3     AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The aims and objectives of carrying out this study are as follows:

–        Minimize order time and response time between buyers and sellers.

–        Bridge the communication gaps that exist between the staffs and the customers.

–        Provide a more secured, faster and more accurate means of buying the product.

–         Provide a faster, more reliable, less cumbersome and more efficient means of payment.

ABSTRACT
This research work shows us the potential benefits we may obtain from the computerization of the out-patient information system of the Hansa Clinic Enugu. The out-patient department otherwise called OPD is a place where the out-patient that is patients that receive treatment at the clinic without staying overnight, wait for the doctors to attend to them.
This manual operation of the outpatient information system is normally stressful. But when it is being computerized it will reduce the stress among those working in the out-patient department.
To reduce the stress we use computers which has a great capacity for processing information to work.

A clinic is an institution with an organized medical and nursing staff, provide a range of medical service, like surgery, for people requiring intensive treatment or observation.
It may also include facilities for childbirth as well as various out-patient departments.
A clinic is not make up of various departments where various cases and handled. For example
1. The surgery department where patients are operated on in the theaters.
2. Obstetrics and gynecology unit where pregnant women are taken care of.
3. Pediatric department where you treat children.
An outpatient is a patient who does not reside in the clinic where he/she is being treated. The registers of the outpatients are used for documentation of the outpatients. The documentation of the outpatients. The data for outpatient registers are registration number, name of patient, age, sex, registration address etc.
The outpatient unit is made up of casually section, records, outpatient, theaters, various clinics etc.
The treatment of the outpatients ends in the outpatient department which that of the inpatients ends in their various wards.

1.1 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
It could be very burdensome for someone who is seriously ill. It wounded or weak to queue on clinic line waiting for the doctor to attend to him or to pay for service and also get drugs.
But when the designing and implementation of a computerize outpatient information system is achieved, a lot of problems will be documented for the outpatient. These problems includes:
– Time wastage
– Absence of doctors involved

                                  ABSTRACT

Voting is a very important process in the Nigerian political system. It is one of the means and the most effective method of ensuring a legitimate government through popular participation. To enthrone sound democracy and stability in the political system of Enugu state, a system of refigure voting has to be put in place. The system would among other functions discourage double voting, forging or hoarding of electoral papers, massive transfer of ballot papers destruction of ballot boxes, inflation of election figures and unnecessary  delay in pronouncement of election results. This could be achieved by computerized voting process to remove the difficult administrative tasks of the conduct of election in Enugu state. It  is the basic forms we set to achieve in this study.
Therefore this project aims at alleviating the incidence of rigging and introduction of an organized procedure of voting which is the bane of socio-economic and political progress in Enugu state.

CHAPTER ONE

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

    1. INTRODUCTION

Voting is a means of selecting or choosing leaders. It does not apply only to local governments, states and federal government of Nigeria but also in different institutions and social organizations. Therefore, the conduct of elections in a democratic society is very important not only because through it a change of government is effected but also because voting is the main form of political participation for most people for democracy to be sound and smooth, it should be enhanced on election free from fraud.
Many centuries ago, most societies were societies were primitive and had not evolved a system of voting  to elect the leaders that will govern then and promote societal harmony and peace. This means that people have to devise a system whereby a leader or a set of leaders have elected from the ranks of the people. At that point the idea of voting and being voted for became important and necessary. But before an individual can cast his or her vote, there are certain conditions to be met, one of which is to be registered as a voter.
Since independence in 1960, the Nigeria political scene has witnessed incessant upheavals, wide scale dishonesty and societal bitterness, which in most instances, degenerated into lawlessness and destruction of lives and property. Theses unfortunate situations paved the way for and served as spring boards for the emergence and growth  of unskilled democrats and military leaders in the governance of the nation. Many Nigeria’s are disappointed that a post independent 46years-old Nigeria is still operating constitution which does not enjoy an overwhelming national acceptance, as evident in the persistent calls for the convocation of a sovereigns national conference on the one hand, and the growing demand for ethnic nationalities on the other.
For about four and half decades since independence, the nation had shifted position between parliamentary and presidential system of government, with several military in cursions into polities over the years. Even the present presidential democratic dispensation is still undergoing experimentation with varying degrees of trial and error approach. It is in the light of the foregoing, that this project on voter registration, is written to serve as a useful tool of enlightenment in the hands of voters, the electorate and the general public.
However, voter registration is a critical aspect of the electoral process. A credible voters register is a prelude to free and fair elections. It is also important for people to know is qualified to vote, where, when and how to vote. Also, a full knowledge of the registration procedure will encourage eligible voters to participate in the electoral process.

    1. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The inefficiency of voting process in Enugu has resulted in a lot of problems. These  problems have continued to obstruct the peace of democracy in Enugu because the choice of a capable candidate is not encourage by the current system. The problems could be emendated as follows.
– The high incidence of multiple voting massive transferred of ballot papers and forging of electoral papers using fictitious names. Indiscrete manipulation and inflation of election figures by electoral commission officers to suit the interest of their favoured candidates.
– Thuggery operation, fear of intimidation and victimization and smuggling of ballot papers into the ballot boxes.
– The fragile nature of some ballot boxes make them vulnerable to destruction
– Lost of votes due to either wrong voting or the case of any of accident occurring during transporting of the statement of result forms and other electoral materials to the collation centers.
– The delay in the generation and announcement of the results which  gives room for other manipulations.
Therefore, there should be change for data handling.

ABSTRACT
The research project reported in this thesis has shown that there is need for an enabling virtual classroom and text-based E-learning environment in Nigerian Polytechnic Education System. Having identified the problems inherent in Nigerian Polytechnic Education System, A virtual classroom was designed that accommodated a blend of synchronous and Asynchronous methods of learning. Web accessibility initiative was incorporated in the design to take care of learners with some sort of disabilities. Also included, was a virtual library facility for referencing. The designed virtual classroom was used in practice to assist learners in undertaking courses in Computer Science, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Management, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Secretarial Studies and Mass Communication at National Diploma or Higher National Diploma levels using NBTE (National Board for Technical Education) minimum guide curriculum. HTML, DHTML, XML and Visual Basic (VB) authoring languages were used to produce the course wares. The authoring system was developed in a way that will enable lecturers who are not computer professionals to produce course wares without any serious computer programming skill. Visual Basic Programming Language was used to create the database used in this work.
The text-based facility was used to establish communication between the lecturer and the students and among themselves and even with authorities of the school.
Collaborative and didactic learning were supported by the newly designed system.

TABLE OF CONTENT
CHAPTER ONE
1.1 INTRODUCTION
The use of computer in Education was nursed when the first business computer was completed in 1951. Educationalists dreamt of connecting College classrooms to computers which would serve as patient tutors, scrupulous examiners and tireless schedulers of instructions. Further, it was expected that the benefits to students would include the freedom to follow their own paths of learning, at their own pace at a time convenient to them, with richer materials to work with and automatic measurement of their progress.
The dream was actualized with the introduction of E-learning and its attendant virtual reality.
E-learning can be accomplished through any of the following:- web-based learning, virtual classroom, Distance learning etc.
E-learning involves the use of virtual reality in establishing a virtual classroom, virtual library and E-learning ware (or kernel or courseware) for actualizing collaborative and didactic learning.
The virtual classroom and text-based E-learning environment is internet-based. Its components include content delivery in multiple formats, management of the learning experience, and a networked community of learners, content developers and experts.
The design of a virtual classroom and text-based environment aims at providing flexible learning and develop appropriate framework for sharing good learning materials among polytechnics, self-learners and interested companies in different parts of the world.
It supports individualized higher education for young learners and supports life long learning for adults.
The actualization of an enabling E-learning environment involves the development of web-site through which access can be made to virtual library and courseware facilities and information about prospective E-learners.
The E-learning environment is text-based because E-mail facility is used to establish communication between the instructor and the E-learners. Other text based features like Addressing, Ellipses and signs were incorporated.
The design of E-learning environment accommodates a mix of synchronous and asynchronous methods of learning considering the fact that Nigeria has not fully embraced the digital revolution and also the poor funding nature of our polytechnic education system.
The designed system is user-friendly, interactive and has a feedback mechanism to ensure control and quality learning.
