1.0 INTRODUCTION
In our society today the use of computer especially in banking sector of the economy have been so eminent. Nearly all banking or financial institutions have computerized their banking operation. The major reason or the fact has been using computer to manage the flow of information within the institution. This is lightly necessary since the survival of any institution including the financial institution like commercial Banks, mortgage Banks Insurance computer etc. depend much on a viable information system. An information system that enables the users to track necessary records and transaction related to the institution in a possible minimum time. Apart from using computer in ensuring a viable information system (IS), error prone information by extensive mammal data mentioned and many others to perform the entire task mentioned and many others have been enhanced by the application software. Application software are programs that direct the performance of a particular use or application of computers and computer networks to meet the information processing needs of end user. This is to say without the application software a computing system I incapable of performing the user task. This is often referred to as computerization. The following section of the project report present the feasibility of computerizing the operation of mortgage banking.

1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Depository institutions have traditionary originated residential mortgage louns to hold in their loan portfolios and mortgage banking is a natural extension of this traditional origination process. Although it can include loan origination mortgage banking goes beyond this basic activity. A bank that only originates and holds mortgage loans in its loans in its loan portfolio has not engaged in mortgage banking as defined here.
Mortgage banking generally involves originates, purchases and sales through the secondary mortgage market. A mortgage bank can retain or sell loans it originates and retain or sell the servicing on those loans. Through mortgage banking national banks can and do participate in any or a combination of these activities Banks can also participate in mortgage banking activities by purchasing rather than originating loans.
The mortgage banking industry is highly completive and involves many firms and intense competition. Firms engaged in mortgage banking vary in size from very small local firms to exceptionally large, nationwide operations commercial banks and their subsidiaries and affiliates make up a large and growing proportion of the mortgage banking industry.
Mortgage banking activities generate fee income and provide cross-selling opportunities that enhance a bank’s retail banking franchise. The general shift from traditional lending to mortgage banking activities has take place in the context of a more recent general shift by commercial banks from interest income activates to non-interest, fee generating activities.

1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The larger challenge facing lending institutions today is the is the lack of system and processes that track, and analysis data effectively. The loan origination process generates massive amounts of data that needs to be managed by the asset management finance and servicing functions, key management reporting and data analysis capabilities are critical in dealing with issues and quantifying trends in delinquency rates and tracking of compliance metrics-basically the bulk of mortgage banking operations. In addition, these functional areas are responsible for meeting t

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
The widespread proliferation of computer networks has resulted in the increase of attacks on information systems. These attacks are used for illegally gaining access to unauthorized information, misuse of information or to reduce the availability of the information to authorized users. This results in huge financial losses to companies besides losing their goodwill to customers as their informative services are several disrupted. These attacks are increasing at a staggering rate and so is their complicity. Thus there is a need for complete protection of organizational computing resources which is deriving the attention of people towards network based security system.
We can effectively protect the computer system, if we use three fundamental techniques against intrusion: prevention, detection and response. Earlier, intrusion prevention was widely considered as a complete and sufficient protection against the intrusions. Such preventive measures include user authentication (using password or biometrics), fencing around the network using firewalls, very tight access control mechanisms, avoiding programming errors, etc. But, unfortunately these measures are not sufficient in adequately protecting the computer system due to many reasons. There would always be un-know programming flaws, design and architectural weaknesses in application programs, protocols and operating systems which can always be exploited by the attacker. The abuse of privileges by insiders (usually disgruntled employees) to gain unauthorized access, the failure of firewall to prevent many attacks such as dictionary attacks and probes, the cracking of passwords are some of the other reasons that make preventive measures insufficient to protect computer systems. Hence, intrusion prevention is not a complete solution. If there are inevitable attacks on the system, we would like to detect them as soon as possible to trace an attack to its source, and assess the extent of damage. The capability that provides these special features is known as intrusion detection. Intrusion detection tools are not preventive devices but they should be used as a second line of defense. Hence they complement the protective mechanism to improve network based security system.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Information dissemination is through a network system. The security of the packets transferred through the network is of great concern to most firms that engage in online transfer of packets. The abuse of privileges by insiders to gain unauthorized access, the failure of firewall to prevent many attacks from the network, the cracking of passwords are some of the other reasons that make network based system stand the risk of being attacked. If there are inevitable attacks on the system, we would like to detect them as soon as possible to trace an attack to its source, and assess the extent of damage. Therefore, administrators are seeking ways to:
• Be sure that the packets transferred from the network are secured
• Keep track of user’s access date, time and activities on the network
• Security of the network by detecting intruders on the network
• The possibility of maintaining a secured network system for an organization.

1.3 Motivation
The high rate of data loss in a communication network, and the attacks suffered by these networks as a result of hacker’s activities on the network propelled the researcher to find solutions to network

INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The greatest innovation that has taken place in the twenties century is in the realer of information technology. This is currently made possible by the introduction of the digital computers, which has been observed in the field of communication to be increasingly inseparable from communication. This linkages often referred to as amplified by business trends the technology and business, foster growth in network systems that use communication links to connect subsidiary system (nodes) which may sender and receive direct and information to,fro, sender and receive.
Taking of the internet a couple of years ago would have sound link a fair table but today the internet is pervasive in almost every field of human endeavour changing the fundamentals of how are conduct national as well as international business. Few years of existence, the internet information in Banking has shown that it can sliver the long sought after goal of electronic commerce.
It is worth noting that companies in developed countries world-wide have recognized the business potential of the internet and are getting connected to the network of network in their million back to be relevant to their customers in terms of the services they provide in the twenty first century and in the future most append this services provide by E-commerce in the banking system in order to stay in competition. Now that an on time banking is the on thing bank should get up and invest in internet technology information monitoring system to reap bounteously the benefit accruing from web banking.

1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The advances in the world of information technology it is almost recorded on a daily basic consequently rendering former communication equipment obsolete as people tilt toward the improved electronics that support E-commerce made possible through the use of the internet in the banking sector.
Although a significant improvement has been recorded in the use and development technology information monitor in the banking industry over the last decade. Most banks are still far from implementing technology-based strategies able to see them through competition in banking markets. This may be as a result of lack of awareness, the inability to evaluate t he benefit derived from the use of the recent technological development (internet) and

1.0 INTRODUCTION
Diggery farm is a part of animal section in NIGERIA PRISON AGRICULTURE PROJECT, STATE COMMAND ENUGU (NPAPSE) Agriculture itself is a science of farming. It can be practice for either animal production or crop production purposes. This study is based on farm management information system” a case study of a piggry farm. Piggry farm is an example of animal farm which is practiced for the purpose of animal production. Before a piggry farm could stand, there must be a boar at least, sow / sows, pockers and piglet of different stages.
Once more the direction intention of this project is to computerize farm management information system have been operated manually. Mis in this orgnization was essentially operated with a great deal of human efforts, and infact the activities of the organization in this system is less challenging, less complex and hence organizations do this extents small sized. Management information systems remain the system that aim at providing information for the management on a regular basis. This call to mind the time value of information which implies that when the required information is received behind the period it will be used, the information become useless. Mis dries to inform the manager how to provide the information.
Management always aim at reading the climax in the decision performance fort attainment of organizational objective but this existing system could not attract such performance due to the lack of effective information tool which can provide the management with quality and needed information and at needed time. This system always result to information over local which actually decreases the decision performance in any management. Information they say is power. Quality information is very vital do check in organization. The only information tha can accelerate the management decision performance is the information that process the good quality of information. Such qualities of information comprises:
(1) Relevance
(2) Accuracy
(3) Completeness
(4) Reliability
(5) Timeliness
Despite these qualities management cannot achieve their objectives. The decision performance also depend on the manager himself. The manager must be able to identify problem, define the problem, analyse it and suggest a possible solution to the problem. And for manager to do these, he must be backup with informations required.
Due to the show mentioned faults and errors associated with the existing system of management information an alternative system is suggested which is a computerized system.
The technology have created an interesting opportunities for all managers and as the technology is growing the researcher demand it necessary to let the blowing wind reach the farm managers (piggry farm managers) in their management information system. A software is developed to replace this manual operation of Mis. This form of software is an expert system.
Computerized farm management information system is a software package that contains a lot of files and records the file that was designed in detail is a sales file which each of it record consist of files like varieties of pigs, quantity, price, weight, subtotal, total amount grand total etc.

1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Nigeria Prison Agriculture Project, State Command (NPAPSCE) stated its operation in Nigeria Prison State Command Enugu between 1980-1981 under the management of MRS MARIA EBUCHE. NPAPSCE started it operation with about three kinds of animals sections, poultry department and crop department. As Nigeria Prison State Command seems to be a world of its owner, the manager (DSP) did not relent at all instead he worked indefatigably expand and introduce other animals to the animal department
Around 1990, there came the expansion of the organization / management. That was when the idea of introducing piggry farm section was accepted in anticipation of the management goals achievement. This led to the origin of piggry farm in this management. The piggry farm they said has provide worthwhile, it has contributed a lot to the labor market and to the management itself. The piggry farm are divided into subsection headedby DSP (manager). The sections are.
(1) Boar Section (2) Sow Section (3) Pocket Section
(4) Piglet Sections.
The management is also divided into management sections. Thus.
(1) Stock keeping (2) Feeding (3) Maintenance
(4) Health care, (5) finance, (6) Accounting (7) Marketing and Sales
Piggry Sales management is discussed in detail here.

1.2 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY.
The objective that led to this research work is basically to expose the Nigeria farmers in general and especially NPADSCE farmer manager with the effective, efficient, accurate and timely form of management information

ABSTRACT

The application of computer in various disciplines has removed a lot of the problems encountered in the use of manual system in the various fields.

In recent years, Standard Trust Bank, Enugu, has been using the manual system recording customers credit account records which has brought about some set backs in achieving the goals of the new system.

In this project, I have analyzed the manual system and have identified some of its problems and limitations. These problems seem to hinder the realization of the goals of the existing system.

With respect to this, I have designed a Computerized Accounting System to help in minimizing some of the problems inherent in the manual system.

The new system reduces errors, operational difficulties and so on, thereby increasing public services and competitive effectiveness and profitability.

CHAPTER ONE

1.0     INTRODUCTION

In the twentieth century, the banking world has seen a continuing progress toward fully computerized operations. At the start of the century there were few mechanical aids with all ledgers, passbook and account statements being written by hand. By the 1970s the banks and graduated to mechanical accounting combined with an increased in business, this trend toward mechanization was a continuous process, the staffing and expansion difficulties were tackled more forcibly in the 1950s with assistance from electronic data processing techniques. It was in this period that banks ordered their first computers.

The early installations were of a batch processing nature for data that had to be sent for processing at the computer center and reports produced. Throughout the 1960s more of the clerical work was computerized and eventually by the end of 1960s all accounts were computerized.

In the middle of 1960s the utilization of branch terminal equipment linked directly to computer center was becoming a feasible proposition. This culminated in the early 1970s with the introduction of a sophisticated computer-based accounting system in current Account Department.

This project aim is to produce an indigenous software package, which will be used to improve the efficiency of the current Account System for Standard Trust Bank, Enugu. Although banks have developed packages however because of the following reasons they have failed to meet the need of the Banking Industry efficiently. Firstly, guidelines and polices for Standard Trust Bank are controlled by Central Banks, of which the revises annually there by resulting in unsteady policies as a result, there is no standard whatsoever set for the Banking Industry thus policies are flexible.

Standard Trust Bank, just as most other banks uses packages without modification hence the result is not what they desire. The modification of these packages to suit the case study as expected will cost expenditure to be wasted.
