Patient information management is the act of managing patient information or presence in a check up and treatment setting to minimize loss due to employee downtime. Patient information control has traditionally been approached using time clocks, time sheets, and time tracking software but patient information management goes beyond this to provide a check up and treatment environment which maximize and motivates employee patient information. The research was carried out of many difficulties such as time factors, money and inability to get much information that could have been of help. This is to ensure that every patient comply with her check up and treatment schedule. This is implemented with visual basic programming language and Microsoft access for effective patient information keeping.

INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Patient information system is used by the hospital to create process and record their patient information. This system is used to calculate the patients punctuate to check up and treatment. It is an effective tool in the hand of the hospital management. The person is most often ill or injured and on need of treatment by a physician or other medical professional, although one who is visiting a physician for a routine check-up may also be viewed as patient.
The aim of computer based patient information system is to promote early intervention by the school and when necessary, by the I.A. The approach aims to ensure that rapid and appropriate action is tackle absence problems as soon as they become apparent.
Patients to day have a board scope of responsibility as health care provides that require them. Under some circumstances, to exercise independent professional judgement, when patients exercise their judgement negligently, hey may be held liable because counts hold them to a correspondingly higher level of accountability.
Patients have been held liable for their failure to monitor and or promptly respond to patient by information physician of significant changes in patients conditions. Under these types of circumstances, patients have an affirmative check up and treatment to exercise their professional judgement to ensure that all adequate steps are taken to treat patient appropriately.
The pupil registration regulations given the admissions and patient information registers that all hospitals must keep, they also regulate the power of special hospitals and maintained hospitals to grant leave of absence.
By law hospital are of required in the patient information register once at the beginning of the morning session and once during the afternoon whether the pupils is present, absent, engaged in an approved, or unable to attend due to exceptional circumstances as defined in regulation. If compulsory hospitals patients are absent the register must show whether the absence is authorized or unauthorized. It must also record the native or any approved activities.

1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
This has to do with title of the project, which is the design and implementation of a patent information system for a parklane hospital.

  • INTRODUCTION

A sales forecast is a prediction of a firm’s sales (dollas or units) during a given period of time in the future. The forecast considers the expected impact of uncontrollable environmental factors and conditions within the firm. If management is displaced with the forecasted the sales volume for the forth-coming year, certain actions may be taken which will call for a readjustment of the forecast. This, forecasting compels – management to think carefully and systematically about future periods, especially about the present actions designed to have a favorable impact upon future results.

The sales forecast is a tools that assists planning in all functional areas of the firm. The firm uses the forecast to plan us production schedule and inventory levels. To accurate forecast will lessen the problems of both stockouts and excessive inventories. Pessimistic forecasts may result in stockouts and in turn may result in both the temporary loss of sales and the permanent loss of customer. Also, in some companies, sales members are continuously distributed by the companies, inability to deliver orders placed by customers. On the other hand, when forecast are too obsolescence, carrying show moving inventory, orunde utilized resources.

The sales forecast affects the accounting and financial area of the firm in terms of anticipating rates of revenues, expenses, and cash flows. If the firm engages heavily in leasing or installment sales, the forecast is an important instrument in determing accounts receivable levels, credit and collection needs and required periodic borrowings.

Forecast and the personnel managers is planning for the hiring, training, supervision and termination of workers. They are important in planning purchases, transportation and warehousing system, advertising and other promotional efforts, preparative of the annual report and other activities by to management.

Is a sale forecasting usually the direct responsibility of the general sales manager rather than this field sales managers? The answer is a vague “sometimes” or partially” or “It depends on the size type, needs or responsibility for sales forecasting is assigned to the sales planning and analysis manager who reports to the chief marketing executive through the marketing research manager.

These short – run fluction such as increased stocking prior to a price increase affect (sales stability and possibly long run trends.

Some variable such as selling efforts and advertising have a significant effect yet is very difficult to measure. This leads to quantifying subjectivity and often-spurious accuracy. New products are always likely to be a special case.

 

1.1     BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The Nigerian Berrwell limited is a pioneer soft drink company in Nigeria. The company has it headquarters in Apapa, Lagos state. In the word of the plant personnel manage of Enugu branch.

“The company is the largest soft drink producer ion West Africa”. The company was incorporated on the 22nd of November 1953 and currently operating up to nineteen soft drinks throughout Nigeria.

The company is facing an uphill task in the determination of sales forecasting of its production and dates. Some of the raw materials that are needed for smooth production processes like sugar and concentrate are gotten from abroad. This is effect has come untold consequences of not given adequate attention.

It was against this background that this project topic was chosen.

It directs management to a realistic approach to its goals and objectives. The tools also harness the functions and efforts different departments of a company and ensures effective co- ordination of total marketing efforts in an organization.

Marketing research investigates whether or not marketing research as a management tool contributes to improved managerial efficiency and also to what extent this tool is to increase profitability.
Then marketing information system (MIS) is an organized way of continually gathering and analysing data to provide marketing managers with information they need to make decisions.
In some companies, an (MIS) is set up by marketing specialist. In order companies, it is set up by a group that provide all departments in the firm with information.
Information is not wall maintained and documented. When important information is not properly stored, especially in disk, diskette, G.O or any computer storage device, it will likely get lose easily and the maintenance is not assured.
Also the cost of maintenance will be very high in maintaining important information that is kept on a file or documents.

1.1 INTRODUCTION

Since there is a good relationship between the job output and the health of the workers, a good Medicare is vital.
Unfortunately, in most developing notions including Nigeria, adequate Medicare is lacking due to low standard of technologies know how and manual handling of most medical problem. As observed by Iyiama H.C and Chukwu. D. C. very often, people in developing countries who are critically ill are rushed abroad for special treatment because it is felt that medical facilities at home is inadequate. This is simply because at home is inadequate. This is simply because computer aided Medicare has become a reality in many developed countries. It is also a known fact that the production of qualified medical doctors, medical lab. Scientists and other medical personnel is on the increase but this is not enough to meet the health needs of the increasing population. The return of patients to a doctors, samples to lab scientist is still high. This situation creates problem, because proper and adequate medical attention to patients is far fetched.

1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
It has been observed that to receive medical treatment in most of our hospitals (or private laboratories) the patients queue up for several hours from one unit of the hospital to another. Starting from obtaining a new hospital folder or retrieving an old one before consulting a doctor to the laboratory unit far laboratory test than to the pharmacy to get the prescribed drugs and so on, with the manual processes involved in handling the patient most of them waste whole day in the hospital. This situation discouraging to most patients and sometimes force them to turn to non professionals or even resort to self medication for quick recovery.
