CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION
The greatest innovation that has taken place in the twentieth century is in the realm of information Technology. This is currently made possible by the introduction of the digital computers. Which has been observed in the field of communication to be increasingly inseparable from communications. This linkages often referred to as convergence is driven by Technology and amplified by business trends the technology and business. Faster growth in network systems that use communication links to connect subsidiary system (nodes) which may send, receives, direct and redirect information to , fro, send and receiver.
Taking of the internet a couple of years ago would have sound like a fairytale but today the internet is pervasive in almost every field of human endeavour changing the fundamentals of how we conduct national as well as international businesses. Few years of its existence, the internet has shown that it can deliver the long sought after goal of electronic commerce.
It is worth that companies in the developed countries world-wide have recognized the business potential of the internet and are getting connected to the network of networks in their millions.
The financial institution (Bank) is one of such organizations. Banking constitutes one of the most prominent life wire for Socio-Economic grow and development in any given nation, it support and assists in the supply of long and short term loan, accepts both current sowings and fixed deposits, both foreign transactions, advice and facilitates transactions between client, workers, agents, firm, buyers and seller by providing payment services, not excluding the issue of undertaking risk on behalf of their clients, only to mention but a few.
The internet having found its application and acceptance in the banking procession has particularly put the banking industry on an accelerating pace of development. The technological highway (the internet) has become an enabler for Banks in achieving high level productivity and in handing volumes of transaction which would have been impossible without the use of on-line banking (E-commerce).
The technology facilitate linkages with clients both through the provision of information and quality service delivery, as well as in reducing barriers to entry into payment systems retail banking. Internet banking allows clients to engage in informal transaction relationship which would have taken long distance travels or movement of documents with the attendant risk of loss. With the online banking (internet) you can at your convenience, at home and at any time review account balances and transactions, transfer funds, receive and pay bills, down-load transaction services and contact customer services just to mention but a few.
An over view of the benefits and prospects of the on-line banking suggest that for banks to be relevant to their customers in term of the services they provide in the twenty-five century and in the future, must append this services provided by E-commerce in the banking system in order to stay in competition. Now the on-line banking is the one thing bank should get up and invest in internet technology to reap bounteously the benefit accruing from internet banking.
1.1 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The advances in the world of information technology it is almost recorded on a daily basis. Consequently, rendering former communication equipment obsolete as people tilt towards the use of improved electronics that support E-commerce made possible through the use of the internet in the banking sector.
Although a significant improvement has been recorded in the use and deployment technology in the banking industry over the last decades, most banks are still for form implementing technology based strategies able to see them through competition in banking markets. This may be as a result of lack of awareness, the inability to evaluate the benefit derived from the use of the recent technological development (internet) and capital shortage that may hamper the design and subsequent implementation of the technological tool hence denying customers of this advance services and their flexibility, choice and convenience associated with the internet banking.
The advantages offered by these toll calls for a review of an existing automated system and subsequent design and implementation of interactive web-site that facilitates the use of the

1.0 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Historical background of N.Y.S.C Nigeria youth service corps started in early 1970s by the National youth service decree which has now been replaced by decree 51 of 16th June, 1993.
However, it is against this background that the NYSC directorate headquarter decided that a whole week of orientation period should be devoted to professional orientation for categories of corps members who are to serve as teachers, doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, engineers, agriculturist and even administrators during the corps years.
Also computer system can be used to process retrieve and format al these information timely and accurately.

1.1 INTRODUCTION
Owing to technological development, the quality of making has increase. Nigeria being one of the developing countries has revolutionalized her development system in other to keep abreast with the on going technological tend in civil services.
The use of computer in this system helps to father the service rendered to people especially the corpers. Therefore computer is an electronic machine that is capable of carrying out its calculations or manipulation at a fantastic rate. This is true because computer has aided as an essential tools in the management and operation of organizations processing requirements.
A corper is a person that graduated in a recorgnized university or tertiary institution within the country or outside the country, who is also registered with the government of his or her country after his or her graduation for the services of the country for one year. They are usually given military training before they are posted to their area of primary assignments.
Development or posting is the act of sending people to their various place of duty in accordance with their respective area of specialization. For example those who did education are posted to teach in secondary school in the past but currently all will be posted to serve in schools in al part of the country.

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The aim of this project is purposely to computerize the deployment of youth corps members to their various places of assignment.
Because of the large number of students that graduate each year, it is very lactic to tackle the posting manually, lobbing has being the main problem in the recent years.
Normally manual processing of deployment leads to lack of appropriate figures, delay and time consuming but computer can handle the posting and reporting of

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION
Distribution is a system through which goods produced are transferred from the production area to the final consumer through different channels. It ensures that people will be able to obtain production when and where needed. It involves the actual movement of product as well as their ownership. To the ultimate consumers processing of any Nigerian company especially N.B.L 9th mile Enugu to be computerized to help save difficulties encountered during the distribution of the final product.
In Nigerian Breweries PLC 9th mile Enugu, where drinks like Star Lager Beer, Guilder the Ultimate, Legend Stout Beer, Guinness Stout and Guinness Malt, Amstel Malt are produced, distribution is done manually. So the aim of this project is to computerized the distribution processing and monitor the company goods.

1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Distribution as often said is a system by which products are transferred from the production area to the final consumer through different channels like wholesalers, retailers etc. distribution started when the idea of producing goods came up. If goods are produced without being sold, it becomes a waste of time, money and resources. Distribution takes different forms. There are goods produced that need to be distributed directly to the final consumer and there are some that will undergo certain processes. E.g. the distribution channels before it gets to the final consumer.
There are some companies e.g. Nigeria Breweries 9th mile which are situated or sited at the urban area. Goods produced here cannot reach those that need them in the rural area and other urban area where the goods are not produced. This is the reason why distribution is necessary and through the help of distribution channels these products get to those that need them.
1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
This has to do with the title of the project, which is the design, and implementation of a computerized product in distribution monitoring system in Nigeria Breweries PLC 9th mile.
Due to the setback experienced in the distribution of drinks in Nigeria Breweries PLC using manual method, the company finds it difficult and useful to spread or disseminate information on distribution. The problem caused by the use of manual method can only be solved

ABSTRACT
Topic: Design and implementation of an online students admission system: A case of study of federal college of education, Eha-Amufu

By
Onyolu Doreen .N.
(CS/N2002/005)

The difficulties students and staff of admission office usually face in any higher institution, made us to realize that computer assisted admission system is the best in processing students record in Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu, Enugu. This will save our school the embarrassment caused by students complaints at the end of working day.

Our basic objective of designing and implementing an online students admission system is the development of data Base computer program that will enable the Register and admission officers to efficiently, accurately and effectively process and co-ordinate the various students activities in the institution without much difficulties with little time.

In view of this, admission officers must prepare for successful working relationship with an online information processing and in addition get their members of staff familiarized with the system for easy and effortless exercise that produce reliable output (result).

This project describes how much an students admission system is developed and how in particular it can be effectively used for the day to day running of the set-up.
For the purpose of this research we shall use data base programming language version iv. This is because Dbase iv handles a large volume of data. It is database management package, which is good for students record keeping activities.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The background of the study is Federal College of Education Eha-Amufu. Here is the brief history about the college.

On February 21, 1981, the then Governor of former Anambra State, Chief Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, announced the first provost and Registrar of the Institution. On 23rd December 1982, the Anambra State House of Assembly enacted a law retroactively establishing the college. The law cited as the “Anambra State of Nigeria how No. 28 of 1982” Came into force on 21st February 1981.
The aim of the college as set out in the law establishing it include:
(i) To organize, improve and develop courses of science and training various categories of teachers.
(ii) To promote research and advancements of science and leasing .
(iii) To serve as a center for educational research especially as applied to local conditions.
(iv) To organize, improve and extend education of standard higher than secondary school level.
(v) To encourage all closes and communities without any distinction to pursue liberal course of education.
After the announcement of the establishment of the college of Education, Eha-Amufu by the Governor with effect from 21st February, 1981, a temporary office with skeletal staff was opened at an office around the then Anambra Television (ATV) Independence Layout, Enugu.

On 7th August, 1981, the then Anambra State commissioner for Education and the then permanent secretary to the ministry took the newly appointed provost and Registrar to the present site of the college at Eha-Amufu, about 64 km Northust of Enugu, the Enugu state capital. The site was formerly occupied by the federal Government owned Teacher Training College (TTC), Eha-Amufu.

When the federal Government handed over the facilities of the college to the Anambra State Government, it decided to use the facilities to establish and run the college of Education Eha-Amufu. This site of the defunct ITC. Eha-Amufu, has remained the permanent site of the college of Education, Eha-Amufu.
On 1994, it was handed over to Federal Government again and became Federal college of Education Eha-Amufu under the Governance of the then Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Okweslieze Nwodo.

The ultimate goal of any establishment is effectiveness. This is achieved only when is/are proper co-ordination of activities between the various units that comprises the system. This coordination is even more important in institution of higher hearing especially at the students, admission, where the desired end is to bring in students who will at the end of the day acquire knowledge that will help the entire society.
Ineffectiveness of diminish system could diminish its ability to relieve student’s tension, frustration and worse still produce lethal consequences. Any measure therefore that can improve the needed response of any institution and its general efficiency is most welcome.

An online students admission system enables the staff in charge to get the students record foster, therefore saving process precious time in student’s management.
In an online institution’s admission’s admission system, the electronic machine quickly retrieves any available information regarding to any student and displays it within a short period of time.

Any adhoc enquiry concerning a student’s indebtedness to the school is responded to promptly, computer could more accurately do staff duty roster.

Coding the particulars of the staff into the computer does this and after, it can be saved and will be available for retrieval at anytime. And because the documents are printed, and information about each staff is contained and can be accessible to determined how many hours in a week each works and then next he/he should be on seat. Thus reducing administrative work loud on the staff.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The difficulties student and staff of admission department usually force in any institution of higher learning made us to realize that (computer aid) an online admission system is the best that can happen to Federal college of Education Eha-Amufu. This will save our school the embarrassment caused by students’ complaints at the end of the working day.

It was in the view of this that Sundison (1994) pointed out that “a typical problem students have had was moving from school to another school. In a modern society labour moves quite a bit and many students change schools at least once in their lifetime. Every time new
